Federal Chancellor Olaf Scholz and Indonesia’s President Joko Widodo receive information at the ifm stand
As part of the traditional Chancellor’s tour on the first day of the Hannover Messe, Federal Chancellor Olaf Scholz and Indonesia’s President Joko Widodo visited the stand of the ifm group of companies in hall 9.
Michael Marhofer, Chairman of the Board and co-CEO of the group of companies, showed the guests around the stand and illustrated the advantages of intelligent measurement technology and digital data communication using the example of a water filtration system from the partner company EnviroFalk. The system provides ultra-pure water, as required for hydrogen production, medical technology or the automotive industry, for example. The sensor technology from ifm ensures the smooth running of the filtration process and the quality of the ultra-pure water.
The potential of digitalisation in such applications is, for example, to generate valuable information from the data provided by the sensors, which can then be used at the IT level for further measures such as process optimisation or predictive maintenance planning. For such Industry 4.0 applications, ifm offers a perfect solution with the IIoT-Plattform moneo. At the trade fair stand, the high-ranking visitors were able to get an idea of how this platform can be used, for example, to implement smart maintenance. Augmented reality glasses from Magic Leap, which use a 3D camera from pmdtechnologies, a company belonging to the ifm group, impressively show how information from moneo is made available to the user directly on site at the plant.
Of particular interest to the Indonesian President: at the beginning of March, ifm opened a new location in Indonesia to accompany the digitalisation of the Asian economic area with a stronger presence. “By offering our expertise locally, we will from now on provide Indonesian companies with even more tailor-made support in the digitalisation of their production processes”, explains Michael Marhofer. This is how ifm contributes to the successful implementation of the digitalisation initiative ‘Making Indonesia 4.0’.
Another eye-catcher at the ifm stand – also for Federal Chancellor Scholz and President Widodo – was undoubtedly the ifm truck, which was brought into the hall especially for ifm Recruiting World 4.0 this year. There, potential employees from different areas learn everything about joining the company and regarding career options within the ifm group of companies. Currently, there are more than 300 vacancies in the ifm group.
