Monk Conveyors – IO-Link sensor implementation for optimising conveyor belt equipment

Packaging industry
Mechanical engineering
Video report

IO-Link sensor implementation for optimising conveyor belt equipment. Thanks to IO-Link, Monk conveyors are able to minimise cabling in the field when building and installing conveyor equipment and machinery. Monk conveyors act as a system integrator: they bring together conveyors and the machines of the costumers as well as the control system into a finished turnkey solution.

There is a lot of field wiring that needs to be done, so the conveyors can work efficiently. ifm's automation solutions are a specific advantage for the conveyor systems thanks to the IO-Link technology, the cabling itself as well as the wiring time can be reduced, and more visibility and monitoring of the system is possible.

IO-Link systems from ifm

Point-to-point communication with IO-Link systems from ifm

IO-Link has been developed by leading sensor, actuator and control manufacturers. The result is a standardised and fieldbus independent interface for automation. This provides the user with point-to-point connections without complex addressing. Binary switches that used to be limited to simple switching signals or analogue values have developed into smart sensors.

The latest success stories

The inspiring application reports, case studies and video reports from all industries show how our customers successfully save costs with solutions from ifm. At the same time, the efficiency and functionality of machines can often be increased.
