The foundation stone has been laid: a new and sustainable building for ifm ecolink in Poland

On 27 June 2023, the ceremonial laying of the foundation stone for a further company building took place at ifm ecolink in Opole.
“I am delighted that we have not only laid the foundation stone for sustainable growth, but also an additional building block for our future development with another DGNB Gold certified building,” said Martin Buck, co-CEO of ifm Group, on the occasion of the ceremonial laying of the foundation stone at the end of June 2023.
In addition to Martin Buck, Christoph von Rosenberg, Andreas Geitz, Andreas Daum, Bernhard Joos, Andrzej Durdyń and representatives of the general contractor also attended the ceremony.
ifm ecolink was founded more than a decade ago (in 2011). Since then, the ifm subsidiary has been expanding continuously and is being successively enlarged. “We are currently employing over 730 people, including almost 200 colleagues in administration, are large part of which are engineers in the R&D department,” says Andrzej Durdyń, Managing Director ifm ecolink.
Approx. 13,500 m² and DGNB-certified: The new building offers enough space for the future.
Since the construction of the first company building, the company has grown by three further properties.“We finished the last investment towards the end of 2022 and now we are starting another construction project: As early as in the second half of 2024, the fifth building is to be put into operation. It is essentially intended for the growth and internationalisation of PCB assembly,” says Andrzej Durdyń. The new building will offer approx. 13,500 m² of space.
“In line with ifm's philosophy, we strive to be sustainable and fully compliant in the area of environmental protection, which is why the new building will also be subject to certification by the DGNB (German Sustainable Building Council).”
