Opening ceremony for the new ifm location in Istanbul
On 15 September 2022, the grand opening of the new ifm electronic İstanbul office took place in the presence of some guests and employees.

The subsidiary ifm electronic Otomasyon Ltd. Şti. in İstanbul was founded in 2006 with only eleven employees. Due to the steady growth of the workforce, the premises of the old location became too small, which is why they decided to move to a larger building. The official opening of the newly renovated building took place on 15 October 2022.
The guests were welcomed by ifm colleagues and live music in the outdoor area.
The event was opened with a speech by Tamer Durkaya:
"As ifm Türkiye, we thank you, our customers, for being here. I would also like to thank our ifm colleagues and Mr Marhofer who are here today, too. We see this opening as a milestone in our journey of the Turkish automation industry. With this new building we are well prepared for bigger steps in the future. We have high expectations. For the benefit of the Turkish industry, we will definitely be a big player in most markets."
The speech was continued by Michael Marhofer:
"My first visit to İstanbul was 17 years ago. At that time I visited the Durkaya family. Even then, we had a partnership of more than 20 years behind us. We discussed and decided to continue as a subsidiary of ifm. At the end of the day, the success depends on our customers and we are delighted that you are here today. We are pleased to be able to support you. We are pleased that we now have a place where we can invite you, where we can organise training courses and show you all the services for which ifm is known worldwide. I am happy that things have turned out so well here in Turkey."
After the ribbon cutting, the guests took a short tour of the building and joined in the festivities on the roof terrace. Together they enjoyed an evening full of beautiful moments, good food and a DJ performance.
About the new location:
- The office space was increased from 380 m² to 950 m².
- The logistics area from 115 m² to 285 m².
- Number of employees at present: 29
