The new generation of robust compact controllers
The latest additions to the ecomat family are the two powerful CR403S and CR413S mini controllers. Featuring a compact IP20 housing and 24 or 32 inputs and outputs, they are ideal for mobile machines with a limited level of complexity. Small but effective – even if the number of inputs and outputs is limited, the ecomatBasic controllers can easily keep up with the large ecomatControllers in terms of performance and RAM.
Freezing cold and unbearable heat are no problem for the ecomatBasic controllers. They can easily withstand temperatures from -40 to +85 degrees Celsius. Like all robust controllers from ifm, the ecomatBasic controllers are ideally equipped for use in harsh environments. The compact IP20 controllers also have E1 type approval, so nothing prevents their use in road traffic.

System overview
The robust all-rounder at the heart of the mobile machine
With its large RAM and 24 or 32 inputs and outputs, the ecomatBasic forms the centrepiece of the system. All inputs and outputs are freely configurable, which offers maximum flexibility. Two CAN interfaces enable fast communication with other system components. The CR413S is also equipped with an Ethernet interface consisting of a convenient M12 connector. This can be used for downloading, maintenance or data transmission, for example.
Programming can be simple and convenient while offering full flexibility. The two ecomatBasic controllers can be programmed quickly and easily via CODESYS 3.5 and are also prepared for the new ecolog service tool. Besides, powerful and convenient safety libraries and function blocks are available to the user if required, which significantly reduce the programming and documentation effort.
Certified safety functionality? Certainly!
By downloading the TÜV-certified software package (available from the end of 2024) including a large number of safety libraries, the ecomatBasic controllers can be used as a fully-fledged, certified safety controller. While the ecomatBasic CR403S has 12 safe inputs, its big brother CR413S features 16 safe inputs and 4 safe outputs. Hard to believe, but with this software package, the two controllers fulfil all requirements for SIL 2, PL d, AgPL d, ASIL C. Besides, CANopen Safety, J1939 Safety and CIP Safety are supported.
