Capacitive sensors
A capacitive sensor is a device that generates an electrical field to detect objects and liquids within that field. Capacitive sensors are commonly used for position detection and level detection in industrial automation applications.
In contrast to inductive sensors, which only detect metallic objects, capacitive sensors can also detect non-metallic materials. They are used for the non-contact detection of any objects.
Typical applications are in the wood, paper, glass, plastic, food, chemical and semiconductor industries.
