The compact O6 Series laser sensors are designed to inspect very small changes in the target’s position by distance measurement and deliver this information via IO-Link to the controller. This unique feature provides the ability to error-proof parts as they are being assembled while collecting the relevant data in real-time.
By accessing the O6 laser sensor’s measurement data in real-time, manufacturers can detect process drift immediately and avoid incorrect parts moving to the next work station.
These sensors include IO-Link as a standard feature. In addition to the measured distance data, IO-Link, a digital communication interface, also allows the user to set parameters that define the target, such as its length and height. As the sensor detects the target or part, any deviation from these parameters will signal an output. The 1 mm diameter laser light spot easily detects the slightest change in the parts-orientation.
