IO-link master setup: Standard hardware | TIA portal [Video]

This video will demonstrate a standard hardware setup using the TIA portal software. In the device configuration window, select the Network View tab. Open the hardware catalog side panel and search for the IO link Master Part number.

Click on the Master block and drag it to your network and then assign it to the PLC. Select the IO link Master to open it in the device overview. Once again, using the hardware catalog side panel, select the port size definition.

Under sub modules are the port configuration options where the inputs and outputs for each port can be assigned.

Unassigned ports should be defined as disabled.

Highlight the IO link master at the top of the list to open the properties tab under Ethernet addresses. Verify that the IP address and ProfiNET name match that of the master under the online access.

Select the Network View tab, Click the compile button and then download the configuration with the download button.
