REACH note
Since 1 June 2007 the regulation (EC) no. 1907/2006, the so-called REACH regulation (REACH - Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicals) has been in force in the EU.
To put it in plain words, the REACH regulation distinguishes between chemical products ("substances on their own and in preparations") and non-chemical products ("substances in articles").
ifm electronic gmbh as a manufacturer of non-chemical products (control, communication and automation technology) is a "producer of articles" according to the REACH regulation. As such a producer, the provisions of art. 33 concerning the "candidate list" are important for ifm. This list was published for the first time on 28 October 2008 and is regularly updated (see http://echa.europa.eu/).
With regard to the substances of very high concern, producers and importers of articles containing a substance from the candidate list in a concentration above 0.1 % by mass per article must provide their professional recipients with sufficient information to allow safe use of the products including, as a minimum, the name of that substance.
Information according to article 33 of the REACH declaration (EC) no. 1907/2006 can be found on this website www.ifm.com under the respective product (enter article no. in the search field → Downloads→ Certificates --> REACH (SCIP) RoHS declaration).
